Oh Christmas tree, oh Christmas tree...

So Jim had a rare Monday off because he has his six month training the rest of this week and we decided today was the day to go get our Christmas tree! :) I always want to get it the day after Thanksgiving, but Jim usually makes me wait a week or so 'cause I always end up killing it before Christmas. So I think today was the perfect compromise.

It's been since our first year together that we've had a place of our own to decorate for Christmas. With all the different moves we've been through, we were either in the middle of a move, somewhere temporary, or staying with family between moves! I am so happy this year to be in our own permanent place. Although with all the moves, we ended up losing all our Christmas decor somewhere along the way. Oh well.

We got up this morning and after I went and picked up my work for the day we headed off to find the 'perfect' tree. I'm a Douglas Fir kinda girl, I just love how full they are. It took me about a half hour to make the decision on which tree I wanted, drove Jim nuts, but he's used to it. I take forever to make any decision. But we got our perfect tree tied it to the top of our car and brought it home.

We then spent the next couple hours out getting new lights, new ornaments, new stockings...the whole nine yards. I was pleasantly surprised that Jim was actually enjoying this shopping experience...most the time he's eyeing the door and his watch counting down the minutes till we're done shopping. So I took advantage of his Christmas cheer and dragged him around to three different stores and he picked out more things than I did! I got everything we needed just before we both started to get hungry and grumpy and we called our shopping spree to an end.

We picked up some pizza on our way back and vegged out for a little bit once we got home. But then I cranked some Christmas tunes on and we were off to cleaning/decorating. It was a lot of fun. :) I love this time of year, and I loved being able to spend today with my hubby getting our home ready for the holidays!

I still gotta finish putting decorations up throughout the rest of the apartment...but here's some pictures of what we've got done so far! Our little snowman on the table sings and dances and I love him...he's the bomb.com. :)
