May

May marked the end of the school year, my birthday and the last stretch of the police academy. It was bittersweet to say goodbye to the kids from my preschool program. Some of them will be back this next school year, but most will move on to their home schools and we'll never hear from them again. These kids challenged me everyday, most of them were in our class because of behavioral issues, others were autistic, downs, m.r., and non verbal. I love the kids I work with. But it was a much needed break once summer came along!

Jim started getting into the "fun" part of the academy during May, driving track, defensive tactics, shooting range....all that good stuff. The book time decreased and the hands on learning increased, so it was a little less stressful, but not by much. We were definitely looking down the home stretch, waiting and wishing for it to all be over.

On my birthday Jim surprised me by teaming up with my Momma secretly and learning how to make my favorite dessert, Better than Robert Redford. It was a sweet surprise, and I spent the evening with my family because Jim had to work that night.

I also finished my online schooling in May and am now one class away from my AA, one class that I have neglected to take both this summer and fall semester. Yes, my procrastination is getting the best of me. :)
