Football

So those of you who know me and Jim, know that football consumes our home from August-January. High school, college, pro....we watch it all. And both of us have our own favorite teams. We live pretty harmoniously, I'd have to say, but we do enjoy pushing each others buttons (i.e. rooting for the other team, telling jim that Fresno is going to take the WAC, cheering when a key player is suspended/injured/sucking...ya know, all good fun) Well this year we took it to a new level by joining our friends Crystal and Taylor in the fantasy football world.

The draft was tonight, and Jim is at work of course, so we made of list(together, although most of my player suggestions got vetoed) of all the players we wanted yesterday, and Jim left me to do the drafting. Oh boy, was that a mistake. You only have 90 seconds to complete your pick and my search thing wasn't working, so I was going off of memory and names that stuck out to me. Once I got to the 8,9,10th round I think I just started playing inny minny miney mo, and that was my strategy till the end.

We didn't do too badly, though it's definitely not the team we constructed on paper. This is who we ended up with:

QB
Peyton Manning, Ind QB P
RB
Laurence Maroney, NE RB
RB
Edgerrin James, Ari RB
RB/WR
Kevin Faulk, NE RB
WR
Anquan Boldin, Ari WR
WR
Roy Williams, Det WR
TE
Antonio Gates, SD TE P
D/ST
Giants D/ST, NYG D/ST
K
Nate Kaeding, SD K P

BENCH
Chris Chambers, SD WR
Donte' Stallworth, Cle WR
Philip Rivers, SD QB P
Bubba Franks, NYJ TE
Chris Brown, Hou RB Q

We ended up with four Chargers, not the plan, but I don't mind! :) Jim is gonna think I did it on purpose, haha. Which I didn't, it's just the way the draft unfolded! So we'll see how we do this season! Yay for football!
