so we leave this week for our trip to idaho and we couldn't be more excited. excited to see family. excited to see friends. excited for a road trip. excited to be off work! there's just so much excitement! :0)
but with the excitement comes all the preparation...ugh. I've gotta get everything ready to go. Mostly me because Jim will be working up until the day we leave. But he was great doing as much as he could with his days off this past week. We pretty much got our house in order, because who likes leaving and coming home to a dirty house? Not me. So let's just hope it stays that way until Wednesday! :)
but there's still much to do. and of course i'm focusing on only the most important things first. like downloading all the music we'll need to get us through about 2500 miles of open road! :)
so i've been going through all the music we already have on our computer and have come across some old favorites that i haven't given nearly as much playing time as they deserve.
and i've been lost in a trip down memory lane through all these songs.
isn't it funny how a song will play and you can recall a memory that is so vivid and real? some of them i really don't care to remember...the ones that include sad times, or times with people you don't really like, or times with old flings. yeah those ones we don't have to keep on repeat. but most of them are fun to relive. some of these songs trigger memories where i remember exactly where i was, who i was with and what we were doing.
it's amazing.
i love it. i love music.
and now i've spent far too much time listening to music than actually getting them ready for the road...
oh well. :)

I so know what u mean! That's why music is so powerful! It can totally create and take u back to memories over and over again. Whenever I hear Quad City DJs, "Come and Ride the Train" or Spice Girls "Wannabe" I think of time I lived with u guys =) Oh and when I hear Lollipop (the oldie) I think of when u were younger and Gairyn and I babysat u guys! Food takes me back down memory lane too! Good luck with prepping and have a safe trip! Love u both!
even if it's a song you didn't really like...if it's connected to good times all of a sudden it's like an old friend.
i'm plugging the kids into the dvd player and bringing my ear buds...happy trails, can't wait to see you guys!
Travel safe! You can't get here soon enough! Happy days, and we will love every one of them. I hear ya on the music. I need me a docking station for my ipod, so I can crank it through the house! I got some serious cleaning to do before family comes! See ya soon!
