I'm so not proud of my day...

It started off well enough. I got up early, finished my work, got dressed and drove with Jim to drop it off. I had good intentions for myself.

I was going to do the stacks of laundry that have piled up in my hallway.

I was going to hang picture frames that have been sitting on the floor in various parts of our house since we moved in last July.

I was going to clean my room and bathroom.

I was gonna go to the library.

I was going to coordinate my visiting teaching visits.

I was going to call my previous places of employment and see if they've sent my W-2's to our old address.

I was going to pay our bills.

I was going to make dinner.

But none of that happened.

Instead I went to Wal-Mart with my brother and stopped at Game Crazy and spent nearly $70 on the new Street Fighter game.

And since then my butt has been glued to the couch playing the dang game, with a brief intersession for American Idol, and moments where I had to go to the bathroom or find something to shove in my mouth.

And I'm not even a video game player, or 'gamer' if you will. Well not lately. I got my game on in my youger years, the result of being sandwiched between brothers and boy cousins. But I haven't actually seriously played video games since the Mario Kart and 007 days on N64.

And the fact that I spent so much on it just blows my mind. I just don't do things like that. I'm a penny pinching, price comparing, bargain shopper to the bone...I guess just not today. I don't know what's gotten into me.

I think it was an emotional buy. Street Fighter just brings back such fond memories of my childhood. Of my brother screaming at the TV saying the computer cheats, to my dad only playing with Chun-Li and E. Honda or M. Bison and cheaply winning every fight by repeating the punching, kicking and sliding moves. I loved this game when I was younger. And I gotta admit I'm liking the new one too. It's dang hard though. Even my brother is struggling with it, and he masters games in no time. It'll definitely keep us busy for a while. If anyone wants to come over and go versus with me, I welcome the challenge :)

Oh and to make it worse I ate fritos, cake frosting right out of the tub and a gatorade for dinner. Oh and I haven't even looked at my work for today, but I do think I may have some blisters forming on my fingertips. This can't be good...

Yeah it's been one of those days....can I just have a redo? :)
