The Hamilton Huskies...

So when my family moved here from California last year they were cautious as to what football program my younger brother Sage would be a part of. Both him and my other brother Bubba had played ball for Vista Murrieta, and had had a great experience. Sage was in his sophmore year and it really was a hard time to move a kid. He's done great with the adjustment and there's no worries as to if he's in a good program.

This football program is ridiculous. They played their first game in Miami, Florida. Ya, you read that right, Miami. It was an all expensed paid trip, all my parents had to pay for was the polo shirt the team had to wear on the plane. They went for four days and came home with a win against nationally ranked Booker T. Washington.

They get team meals provided for them every Thursday and Friday, they had their mouth guards custom made for them by an orthodontist, they are sponsored by Nike...need I go on, I think you get the picture.

Well we went to their first home game on Friday and they played against the school they lost the state championship to last year. So needless to say, this was the biggest game in the state (or so I was told) We definitely didn't expect what we were in for. At least five news stations were there, including a helicopter. Matt Leinhart, Anquan Boldin, and Eddgerin James were there. They handed out free Red Bull and Chipotle as you walked in and had vendors such as Cold Stone and Dip 'n Dots there. What ever happened to nachos and pizza? There were also fireworks, yes fireworks, when the team came onto the field and every time they scored.

Like I said, ridiculous.

We did learn that getting there an hour in advance was still not good enough to get a good seat, and that you'll get eaten alive by mosquitos, so repellent will be worn next week. :)

Were excited to be a part of such a great program, but I do miss the Murrieta atmosphere and actually knowing anything about the players or the league. :( But it's all good....

As sad as I was to see your family leave California, I'm beginning to see why your parents felt it was the right place to be. What a great opportunity for your brother!

Okay, you never said who they played and if they one or not. I'm dying to know. Hamilton is big time. That's awesome that they get to play there!
