Good friends.
With this new move I'm hoping we land in a place that we can finally feel settled. Really plant some roots.
We've moved over 10 times in our marriage so far, not spending too much time at any one place.
It takes a toll. Knowing you're not going to be somewhere very long kind of makes me not put too much effort into....well much of anything. I know that's probably not the best way to go about things, but it's what I do.
Jim and I both have really good friends, the friends you can call last minute and go out with or drop by anytime or do pretty much anything together and have fun. They're just not here. Here we have acquaintances.
So when we move I'm making a concentrated effort to do some planting, and maybe we'll be able to grow some great new friendships.
Make new friends, but keep the old. One is silver and the other's gold. :)

wehre are you going?
i remember feeling that...not wanting to put the effort in, luckily i had some good neighbors who felt differently. good luck on your move, or at least picking a place that works (for now).
love that dog too and i've never even met him...like a chubby little baby you just can't resist.
you two are fun friends :) you gotta share that! Sounds like a great challenge for me. My problem is that we live in the same town, but different ward, so I just don't make an effort with the new people because I still have my good friends close by. I should probably get out of my box a little. You guys ROCK! Have you chosen a place?
I know how that is! My hubby is in the military, so we've moved a lot too, and now I'm clear across the country, so far from anyone I know. And I do the same thing too! Hope you get settled in and can be comfortable calling this new place HOME!
Good luck with the move! I'm sure you will make plenty of friends!
Remeber age dosn't matter! We have found an older couple who's youngest daughter is Braden's age. We have gotten together with them a couple times and it is great!
